Preparing images in PhotoShop

PhotoShop is a paid program for working with images.  If you have PhotoShop, you can try the following steps:

Open the image in PhotoShop, and go to Image > Image Size...



In Pixel Dimensions change maximum dimension to 2500 (if larger than 2500)


 
  • Click OK
  • Go to File > Save for Web and Devices...


 
  • Set the image type to JPEG and the quality to 60% and click Save.  (Saving the image at 60% quality will create a smaller file size, but visually high quality image.)
  • Check the Convert to sRGB box
  • Click Save
  • It may be a good idea to give your new image a slightly different name so it's easier to recognize when you go to upload it.
