Lightbox

The Lightbox view displays a large version of the image on a blank ground, like so:

The Lightbox settings can be found in the Admin Panel > Image gallery (any one) > Advanced

Advanced Layout Options

Lightbox Options.

There are two versions of the lightbox that can be used with your site: the Responsive (recommended) and the Standard.  These are explained below.

Responsive lightbox

This (recommended) version of the lightbox view always displays your image as large as possible, and fit to the screen.  It also displays the arrows closer to the edges of the browser.

The Responsive Lightbox includes the following options:

Display image info
  • Below image: displays the image information (such title, medium, dimension) directly below the image.  When this option is selected, the following options appear:
    • Image info visibility
      • Fit on screen: always displays the image information on screen, even if it means reducing the image size.
      • Scroll to see: maximizes the size of the image, and may display the image information below the bottom of the screen (if required) so it can be scrolled into view.
  • Upper right: displays the image information fixed to the upper right of the screen

Display navigation arrows
  • Within cursor: does not display arrows on the page, but instead, transforms the cursor into left and right rows as it moves to the left and right of the image respectively
  • Around image: displays arrows next to the left and right side of the browser window.  When this option is selected, the following options also display:
    • Always on: when checked Yes, the arrows will appear always fixed in place.  When checked No, the arrows will only appear when the left and right side of the screens are moused over.

Zooming
The Responsive Lightbox includes a click-to-zoom feature that may transform the cursor to a magnifying glass like so:

This option is available when the lightbox image is at least 10% smaller than the browser size.  If you wish to have this on all images, make sure you are using the Biggest size image in the lightbox, and then make sure the Biggest size images are either taller or wider than the typical screen size (usually around 1500 tall, and 2200 wide).

Standard lightbox

The Standard Lightbox does not always require that the images fit to the window.  Among other differences, it displays the arrows closer to the image like so:

The Standard lightbox includes the following options:

Display navigation arrows
  • Within cursor: does not display arrows on the page, but instead, transforms the cursor into left and right rows as it moves to the left and right of the image respectively
  • Below image: displays the arrows below the lower right side of the image. Selecting this show the option to display the arrows around the image on mouseover only.
  • Around image: displays the arrows on the left side right side of the image.  Selecting this displays the option to display the arrows around the image on mouseover.
  • Upper right corner: displays the arrows fixed to the upper right corner of the screen

Auto-fit images to screen
Ensures that the lightbox image always fits within the browser window.
